Northeast Minneapolis Arts District:
Long history with arts and economic development, from coordinating the Art-A-Whirl® open studio crawl in its 5th through 7th years, to currently writing and producing a sponsored monthly news page, ARTS Insights.

Owner/publisher of the Northeaster newspaper since 1981.
In 2017, MNA gave the paper second place for General Excellence and our photographers swept our category in “photo stories.” The Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce named us a business of the year in 2015, and its business ambassador at the 2018 parade.

With an editor and freelancers responsible for content, I sell and service the advertising, manage news layout, and I’m volunteering in community. In 2018, with partners in Northeast Minneapolis, I accomplished: Banners installed along the Johnson Street corridor, city grant-funded. Grant from MWMO secured for planning water-management solutions to the Johnson Street Merchants Association parking lot. Initiated and fundraised for a parking study for 13th Avenue business district.
